Ambridge's newest resident rushed into the world on Thursday 7 April as
Emma Grundy gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in The Archers.
Emma and her husband Will have been married for less than a year and
have the rockiest relationship in Ambridge - not helped by Emma's 'friendship'
with Will's brother Ed.
Will the new arrival bring Emma and Will closer together?
Emma's waters broke while talking to Ed, so it was him that got her to
the hospital and held her hand throughout labour.
Will rushed to her bedside - arriving just in time to push Ed out of
the way and see the baby being born.
Weighing in at 7lb 4oz Emma and Will have named their bundle of joy George
Edward Grundy.
Everyone in Ambridge is delighted at the news, apart from Ed who seems
rather subdued.
Will's as proud as punch at fatherhood, but Emma seems rather anxious.
Is the strain of a new baby already taking its toll or is there something
more on her mind?
