MP and broadcaster Michael Portillo returns to the screen this spring
in a one-off special documentary on domestic violence for 成人快手 Daytime.
Battered and Bruised has been commissioned by Controller
of 成人快手 Daytime, Alison Sharman, and will follow Michael Portillo as
he takes a closer look at the issues around domestic violence, meets
those affected by it and examines the support services in place to help
victims.
He meets Rowetta Satchell, the X Factor finalist who spent many years
in a violent relationship before she escaped to a refuge and rebuilt
her life.
The programme also follows South Wales Police to get an idea of the
amount of time and resources that domestic violence takes up and why it's
such a difficult crime to prosecute.

And Battered and Bruised looks at the question of whether
abusers can change their behaviour.
Michael Portillo will also look at what is being done to try and prevent
the problem for the next generation when he visits a primary school
with a pioneering approach to tackling children's attitudes to violence.
Alison Sharman said: "成人快手 Daytime has gained a reputation for
tackling difficult topics and this documentary is no exception.
"It will highlight a serious social issue that is often swept
under the carpet, and will offer support to those affected by it."
The producer is Elizabeth Senior and the executive producer is Paul
Woolwich.
Notes to Editors
Battered and Bruised will be broadcast on the same day as 成人快手 Daytime
drama Beaten, starring Robson Green, which also addresses issues of
domestic abuse.
