Restoration
results from fourth programme revealed
听
Speaking from Hampton Court Palace, Griff Rhys Jones
tonight revealed that the nation had chosen Sherborne House in
Dorset to be the fourth building to go through to the final of this
year's 成人快手 TWO series Restoration 聳 winning more than 60 per cent
of the votes cast.
听
On Sunday (25 July), in the fourth episode of Restoration,
Griff called on viewers to choose between Sherborne House and two other
buildings in the South West of England 聳 Castle House in
Bridgwater, Somerset and South Caradon Mine in Bodmin, Cornwall.
听

Sherborne House in Dorset is a grand Palladian Town
House with a staggering interior.
听
Built in 1720, the chief glory of the house is the
baroque stairwell decorated by Sir James Thornhill 聳 famed for
his murals in St Paul's Cathedral and Blenheim Palace.
听
The mural remains untouched though is now threatened
by water damage and years of neglect.
听
The trust championing Sherborne House plans to return
the house to its former glory and open it to the public as a regional
arts centre with a permanent Elizabeth Frink sculpture exhibition n
the gardens.
听
Nerys Watts, Heritage Lottery Fund Manager in the South
West, said today: "Sherborne House is a premier piece of built
heritage in the South West and really worth treasuring.
听
"The building has a rich architectural, cultural
and social history, and we are delighted it has reached the Restoration
Final.
听
"The Heritage Lottery Fund is committed to helping
as many people as possible celebrate their heritage, so we have set
aside 拢2.5m for The Restoration Fund to help restore the winner.
听
"I would encourage voters in the South West to
get behind their finalist and save this fantastic house for everyone
to enjoy."
Tonight's result means that Sherborne House will now become one of eight
buildings to be featured in the live Restoration Final at Hampton Court
Palace on Sunday 8 August on 成人快手 TWO.
听
Here a nationwide vote will decide which building should
be given a new lease of life with money raised throughout the course
of the series.
听
Tonight three more buildings were featured for viewers
to choose between in the North of England 聳 Sheffield Manor
Lodge in South Yorkshire; Gayle Mill in North Yorkshire;
and the Lion Salt Works in Cheshire.
听
This Sunday's episode of Restoration (1 August) will
reveal which of these will become the fifth building to go through to
the final.
听

Voting lines are open for two days for each programme
from 2.00am on day of transmission until midnight on the day after.
听
