Line-up includes Nicola Benedetti, Barbara Dickson and Ailish Tynan

Following the huge success of Proms in the Park in all four nations of the United Kingdom for the first time in 2003, the Glasgow 2004 Last Night celebrations are set again for The Glasgow Science Centre at Pacific Quay on Saturday 11 September at 7.45pm.

In association with Glasgow City Council, and sponsored by Renault, there are 8,000 free tickets up for grabs, and like last year, they are sure to be snapped up within days of being released.

Glasgow's Proms in the Park hooks up with Belfast, Swansea, London's Hyde Park and Manchester who are also joining the party this year.

Like last year, each city has its own distinctive concert before uniting with big-screen link-ups for the live relay of the famous finale of the Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall.

In Glasgow, performing on stage with the 成人快手 Scottish Symphony Orchestra this year, are:

the remarkable 16-year-old violinist Nicola Benedetti who is fresh from winning the coveted title of 成人快手 Young Musician;

legendary singing star and actress Barbara Dickson, who plans to reveal some new material from her new album Full Circle;

and one of the world's most acclaimed singing talents, Irish soprano Ailish Tynan, a winner in the 成人快手 Singer of the World competition.

They are joined on stage by the Scottish Power Pipe Band, and the National Boys' Choir of Scotland, directed by Christopher Bell.

The conductor for the night is Chris Austin and the event is hosted by 成人快手 Radio Scotland's Gracenotes presenter, and renowned Scottish tenor Jamie MacDougall.

The rich and varied programme for Proms in the Park includes music from composers as diverse as Shostakovich, Leonard Bernstein, jazz legend Duke Ellington and a host of well known Scottish songs.

Prommers can also look forward to hearing their favourites from The Nutcracker, Carmen, West Side Story and one of the biggest Ceilidhs of the year.

Whatever your bag, Proms in the Park 2004 aims to bring the best music making to the widest possible audience combining raw energy, informality and an explosive atmosphere.

And if you're not lucky enough to obtain a ticket to attend in person, everyone in Scotland can still listen or watch via a variety of 成人快手 platforms.

Glasgow's Proms in the Park will be broadcast live, in its entirety on 成人快手 Radio Scotland.

Excerpts will also appear on the Proms transmissions on 成人快手 ONE and 成人快手 TWO, on Radio 3, and as part of the London Proms in the Park concert on Radio 2.

The Glasgow Proms in the Park will also be shown on 成人快手 Scotland at the end of the year.

The message is simple. If you'd like tickets for Proms in the Park then from today (1 July 2004) you can get them free (maximum of six) by calling 08700 100 300.
