Phil Miller from Stoke Newington has won the fourth 成人快手 London photography competition.

The theme Surprising Stories From Familiar Places was inspired by the successful 成人快手 London programme Inside Out, which delves into unusual and fascinating stories about London life.

More than 1,000 entries were received and the judges 聳 renowned music & social photographer Dennis Morris, Alan Sparrow, Picture Editor of Metro, and Liz O'Sullivan, Head of London Underground's Arts and Events - had a difficult task narrowing down the entries to the final 30 and then ultimately the winners.

Liz O聮Sullivan says: "As always, it's great to be partnered with 成人快手 London. This is a fantastic competition and the entries and quality of photographs are ever increasing."

The judges were very impressed by the humour of Phil's entry Sun Seeker.

Phil says: "The photograph was taken on one of the hottest days in London.

"I was cycling down the South Bank when I happened to spot this coach driver taking a break lying on his sun-lounger which he had extracted from his coach."

The final 30 entries will be exhibited at the London Transport Museum until 6 June, and the winning photographs are being displayed in poster form at Piccadilly Underground station in association with London Underground's Platform for Art.

Ten year old Kate Waters from Epsom won the under 16 category in the photography competition.

The judges were very impressed by her entry Catch the Sun.

Kate says: "I took it at the Tate Modern when The Weather Project was on show in the Turbine Hall.

"I asked my Dad to hold up his hands as if he was holding the sun, an idea I had planned some weeks before."

This wasn't the first time Kate had entered the competition. Back in 2000, aged just seven, she again made it through to the final shortlist.

Kate's parents are delighted by their daughter's success.

Dad Stephen said: "We are extremely proud of Kate's achievement and I'm not the slightest bit humiliated that my own entry to the competition came absolutely nowhere whilst my 10-year-old daughter made the final 30!"
