成人快手 ESSEX

成人快手 Essex's Nick Alliker to carry the Queen's Jubilee Baton

People in Essex are getting on their starting blocks and limbering up for the epic Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay which travels through the county on 24 - 25 June en route to the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

成人快手 Essex is accompanying the Baton on its historic journey through the county, and the station is encouraging local people to come out and cheer the baton runners along on their way.

Sports presenter Roger Buxton is hosting a big outdoor evening celebration in Priory Park, Southend-on-Sea on 24 June (The 成人快手, Southend Council, and the Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay have worked together to create this exciting event); and the radio station's news reporter, Nick Alliker, is swapping his microphone for the Baton in Colchester town centre at midday on 25 June when he is the official runner to Colchester Castle.

成人快手 Essex presenter Roger Buxton says: 聯We are really behind all our local Baton runners and we're hoping to inspire the runners and the crowds throughout.

"The baton has already visited 23 Commonwealth counties, so it's going to be a really historic occasion.聰

Harriet Roberts, the 成人快手's very own "Baton Woman", has been busy for several months organising the 成人快手's coverage of the 5,000-mile journey of light as the Baton is carried round the UK.

She says: "It's been a daunting task, but with all the expertise we have on board - including organisers from the Sydney Olympics - we have a great team in place to ensure the events and the partying brings something for everyone!"

The baton left Buckingham Palace on its epic journey in March this year and arrived back in the UK on June 6, having passed from hand to hand through 23 Commonwealth countries including Canada, Jamaica, St Lucia, Uganda, South Africa, Australia, Fiji, Malaysia and India.

The Baton is being carried through hundreds of towns and villages throughout the UK, held aloft by local runners including 成人快手 local radio presenters.

It will cover the four corners of the United Kingdom and will complete its journey when the final runner hands it over to Her Majesty The Queen at the opening ceremony on July 25 in the Commonwealth Games stadium in Manchester.
