Oxford
student Ryan Li clicked his shutter and captured in a frame the
drama of one of the world's biggest stories - the spread of the
killer SARS virus.
Now
his picture of a mask seller in Hong Kong has won him the title
of Student Photographer of the Year at the Guardian Student Media
Awards.
The
judges said of it: "The sense of chaos told the story of SARS very
quickly.
"He
has used the instinct of a news photographer to capture a big story
very well."
Ryan
is a contributor to Cherwell, the Oxford University student newspaper.
Clare
Bevis, also from Cherwell, won the runner up award in the Student
Feature Writer of the Year category.
She
also writes theatre reviews for 成人快手i Oxford (click here

They
received their awards from TV presenters Colin Murray and Edith
Bowman at a ceremony in central London.

year's judging panel included Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, Rebekah
