What's Moon Radio WebTV all about?
Paul Granjon

Paul Granjon presents a film broadcast as part of the 2nd Moon Radio broadcast weekend event, exploring popular science on TV.

Moon Radio is an alternative to conventional TV, a way to distribute new ideas for broadcast to a wide international audience.

But if you're confused we've got a little help from with Rachel Jacobs.

Rachel works for Active Ingredient - a digital arts company behind Moon Radio WebTV.

Interview with Rachel Jacobs
How is Moon Radio webTV funded?
Moon Radio webTV was originally funded by the Arts Council of England as a research and development project. The current programme has been funded by the key regional arts and development agencies, including EMDA, East Midlands Arts and EMMI.
If you are a local artist how might you get on to Moon Radio?
Local artists can get their work on Moon Radio by joining our mailing list, they will then receive regular updates about Moon Radio commissions, bursaries, events and workshops. You can join on the website by following the link JOIN.
Why would you like to get on it?
Moon Radio webTV has a fast growing audience based on an international scale and links in with national arts and media venues who showcase to broadcast events. Showing your work on the channel will be an opportunity to access this growing Internet based audience to have an easily accessible space to showcase your work, it will also give you an opportunity to be involved in a new and exciting broadcast channel and find out more about webTV and the future of Internet broadcast media.
Do you have examples of Nottingham artists who have appeared on your site?

Moon Radio has hosted a range of commissions and films as part of their programme of events, these have included local, national and international artists.

For the Rose Tinted TV event we have commissioned local artists Steven Sheil, Ruby Digital Arts - Jeanie Finlay and AV_DV - who are working with film, video, audio and digital media towards broadcasting on the Moon Radio channel.

has produced a series of film shorts entitled 'When was the Last Time You Said I love you?' An exploration of the love stories of strangers, told through the voices of older people. Scripted from over 200 anonymous responses to an online questionnaire distributed by artist Jeanie Finlay through the digital arts project Tea-Toast-Technology (T3), the films challenge our preconceptions about age, sex and relationships.
The films will be released at regular intervals throughout the Saturday programme.

'Charlie Why - Mystery Ends In A Why Broadcast' by Steven Sheil, a film maker based at Broadway Media Centre and course leader for the foundation course at Intermedia Film and Video.

Active Ingredient has just received Regional Arts Lottery Funding to develop the Moon Radio webTV channel. Over the next year we will be continuing to host a programme of events, offering three bursaries for artists to develop a project for broadcast on the channel and running a five day workshop for artists and media producers to collaborate on a project and learn about Internet broadcast. We will also be developing the channel and website, working with other media organisation and artists to build an exciting range of content.
