Race for Life is a 5km women-only event and it's hoped that the three events will raise in excess of 拢500,000. You don鈥檛 have to run the Race for Life, the event is open to all fitness types, so you can walk or jog around the course, if you wish. You can do it on your own or with a group. Race for Life started in 1994 at Battersea Park where 680 women took part and raised 拢36,000. This year there are 230 races across the UK and so far 240 million pounds have been raised! Over 790 people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK, 70 alone in the Yorkshire and Humber region. The closing date for all entries is three days before the race, however as most races fill long before this, it is important to enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. last updated: 30/03/2009 at 13:36 SEE ALSOYou are in: North Yorkshire > 成人快手 Radio York > 成人快手 Radio York Features > Race for Life '09 |
