First job:听 A School holiday job delivering Rington鈥檚 tea around York. It left me with a serious Tunnocks Caramel Wafer habit.

Little known facts about yourself:听 I played drums in the wonderful Bob Sleigh and the Crestas.听 My stage name was JG Giant. I worked at Rowntrees as a student during holidays.听 Machine packer 1161, I once worked out I鈥檇 pack 56,000 Kit Kat in a typical 8 hour shift. I didn鈥檛 get out much.

Favourite food and drink:听 I would think the first bowl of olives with the first bottle of Retsina on the first day of our annual holiday in Crete.

Any pet hates:听 Yes, Honey my Greyhound really doesn鈥檛 like cats. She鈥檚 not that keen on squirrels either.

What would your desert island luxury be:听 You mean apart from the all female cast of the Impulse ad?

Most embarrassing radio moment:听听 Too many to mention. There was that time I almost burnt down a radio station I used to work on, but you don鈥檛 want to hear about that.

Best radio moment:听 Being employed.

Who would be your dream co-presenter:听 Sooty or Marcel Marceau. Those who know me say either would compliment my own style well.听

If you weren鈥檛 a broadcaster what would you be:听 Struggling! A Ryedale farmer whose daughter I was seeing checked out my hands on our first meeting. 鈥淲hy you鈥檝e never done a day鈥檚 work in your life,鈥� he observed. To which I replied 鈥淚 know鈥� good isn鈥檛 it.鈥� It鈥檚 become like a mission statement to me.听听
