SHIPS THAT PASS
The city of Derry led the way in attracting cruise ships to Northern Ireland, but now it lags behind Belfast. This year, seven ships will dock in the River Foyle, compared to 39 in Belfast. Passenger numbers have also declined sharply. The absence of a deep water quay here makes it difficult to facilitate larger vessels.
