What is VoluME?

The VoluME creative team consists of a group of volunteers who all give their time and share their talents to create a fun and breezy magazine. It's eco-friendly too, as it's accessed through the website not in print.

"It's a chance for people to learn new skills in the production of the magazine and let others know more about the local music scene," said VoluME editor Jacqui Burgoyne.

"We have people writing articles, researching band information, finding out about gigs and taking photos too," she added.

The magazine is supported by vinvolved and ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Norfolk Introducing.

vinvolved works to create volunteering opportunities that will help young people develop new and existing skills to boost their CV and contribute positively to their community.

"We're so proud to have put together a new kind of newsletter," said Rosanna Wynn-Williams from vinvolved.

"It's been a creative challenge, but I'm really happy with the end result. Each edition is different from the next," said Graeme Stuart from the VoluME design team.

The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Norfolk Introducing programme is on every Friday night from 7-8pm on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Norfolk, playing the best bands and artists from Norfolk.

"Norfolk has one of the most vibrant local music scenes in the country," said Gary Standley, producer of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Norfolk Introducing.

"Our programme reflects this and being able to let people know what's coming up and encouraging people to go to gigs can only help build the scene further," he added.

The Latest Issue: April 2009

In the April 2009 issue, VoluME looks at the fifth anniversary of KunK, previews the latest gigs in Norwich by The Kabeedies and catches up with Poppy, whose providing therapy for disabled children in Zanzibar.
