World para-Athletics championships: GB stars win medals ahead of Paris Paralympics

Hollie Arnold won big for Britain in the javelin
British athletes have been winning medals in both the para-Athletics and para-cycling championships.
Both championships are the last major competitions before the Paralympics, which are being held in Paris later this year.
The para-cycling championships are on for another three days, and the para-Athletics has its final day this Saturday.
Yesterday, ParalympicsGB announced their swimming squad, and we're hoping to hear more announcements from them over the next few weeks.
World para-athletics championships
There's been a big stack of medals for Britain at the world para-Athletics championships, which are currently being held in Kobe, in Japan.
A lot of these athletes went to Japan in 2021 for the delayed Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
Hannah Cockroft is a seven-time Paralymic gold medallist
Hannah Cockroft won 100m gold for the seventh time in a row on Tuesday 21 May.
She now has her sights set on a fifth consecutive gold in the 800m later this week.
Jonathon Broom-Edwards grabbed a gold for Britain in the high jump
ParalympicsGB champion Jonathan Broom-Edwards managed to hit gold in the high jump.
Then over in shot put, Sabrina Fortune not only won a gold medal, but also smashed the world record, and in her following throw, beat her own record and set a new one!

It's hard to put into words how it felt to throw even further. I just wanted to run round and round in circles.
Britain's Hollie Arnold secured another gold medal for the team with her success in javelin. She said she'd been nervous beforehand, but heading out gave her confidence.
"I have been worried sick for the last two days but as soon as I walked out on to the track, I was like 'game time, gladiator on'."
There were silver medals too - from Thomas Young and Zack Shaw in the T38 and T12 100 metres.
Cycling success
The para-cycling Track World Championships are currently being held in Rio, Brazil.
We're only two days in, and the British team has already won four gold and four silver medals.
Lizzi Jordan, who is hoping to head to Paris for the Paralympics later this summer, won gold with her pilot Danni Khan in the women's tandem time-trial.
Archie Atkinson won gold in the men's C4 individual pursuit.

I'm pretty ecstatic to be a world champion.
Silver medals were won by Sophie Unwin and Jenny Holl, in the women's tandem time trial, and Katie Toft in the 500m women's time trial.
There's still three more days of cycling action to come, so we will have to wait and see what else this team are capable of.
