You might have heard of iPlayer, Disney+ and Netflix, but now a new streaming service is joining the mix - Nasa.

That's right, US space agency Nasa is launching its first on-demand streaming service called Nasa+.

"NASA's new streaming platform and app are where the world can join us as we explore the unknown," said Marc Etkind, who works in the communications office for Nasa.

Nasa said the streaming service would be free, family-friendly and wouldn't have any adverts.

What will be on Nasa+?

The new streaming service will keep space fans in the know.

Nasa has said that viewers will be lots of space-themed documentary series to watch, including one about the James Webb Space Telescope - the world's most powerful space telescope, and the Artemis I mission.

It also said there would be animated children's shows about planets, the mysteries of the universe, and intergalactic worlds.

Nasa also said that there would be a series sharing the personal stories of Black Nasa astronauts, and a special behind the scenes series following scientists as they investigate America's first asteroid sample.

There will also be high-definition images of stars, galaxies and space set to music, as well as live-stream event coverage for things like rocket launches and science experiments.
