Cork Port: Major fire at port now 'under control'

A major fire at Cork Port is now under control and there are no reports of any casualties, the port has confirmed.
The fire broke out at Ringaskiddy Deepwater Berth at a storage facility for animal grain. Extensive damage has been caused to the storage facility.
Irish broadcaster RTÉ said emergency services remain on site to monitor the area.
Earlier the port activated its emergency plan, involving an evacuation.

All ship operations in Ringaskiddy have been suspended until further notice, as a precaution.
A number of fire service units tackled the fire after the alarm was raised at 08:43 local time.
The fire continues to burn and large plumes of black smoke can be seen coming from the storage facility.
The Port of Cork has advised residents in the area to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.
