Sweden Ebola: Patient tests negative in Malmo hospital

A patient admitted to hospital in Sweden with a possible case of the Ebola virus has tested negative.

Skane University hospital told the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ the patient was "not infected" with Ebola. That person had come into the hospital with symptoms of fever.

Maria Josephsson, head of Skane's infectious diseases department, said tests were being carried out because of where the patient had been staying.

Another case was confirmed in Uganda earlier this year.

Ms Josephsson told the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ that, as a precaution, the patient had been kept in isolation.

Later, she said: "Test results have now come back negative. The patient is not infected with Ebola."
