The woman whose body was found in a wardrobe at a house in Dublin on Thursday was Joanne Lee.

The 38-year-old had been reported missing by her family on Tuesday.

Her body was discovered by Garda铆 (Irish police) when they entered a house on Ranelagh Road at about 15:45 local time on Thursday.

Supt Gerry Delmar said officers also found a man at the rear of the house who had sustained injuries "consistent with having fallen from a height".

Several Irish media outlets are reporting that a man fell from an upstairs window at the scene.

The man was taken to hospital on Thursday afternoon and is still being treated for his injuries.

'Devastated'

Supt Delmar told reporters that officers had called to the house as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Ms Lee, who was also known as Joanne Ball.

Inside the property, they found an "unresponsive" woman.

"Medical assistance was given to that female, however, she was pronounced dead at the scene," the superintendent said.

He added that although the body has not yet been formally identified, Garda铆 believe it is that of Ms Lee.

Supt Delmar appealed to anyone who saw her in Garristown, County Meath, on 5 February to contact detectives.

He also appealed for information about a silver Nissan Micra car that Ms Lee had access to, with the registration 08 MH 16073.

Ms Lee's uncle, John Curry, told Irish broadcaster 搁罢脡 that her family was devastated.

He described her as a beautiful girl and said her death "tore the soul out of us".
