  • Published

A man and woman have been saved on Snowdon after they fell in the same incident whilst scrambling.

A man, 65, from Cumbria, fell 20ft (6m) on the Cribyn ridge and struck a woman, 31, from Birmingham, who then slipped 30ft (9m) at 11:34 GMT on Saturday.

Fifteen team members of the Llanberis mountain rescue team turned out to help the injured pair from a party of five.

They were winched aboard an RAF rescue helicopter from Valley in Anglesey and flown to hospital in Bangor.

The man suffered a head injury and the woman had elbow, head and knee injuries. None of the injuries is believed to be serious.

The three other team members made their own way down the mountain.
