Newport: Arrest after dog attack leaves woman, 48, in hospital

A 48-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after she was attacked by a dog.
Gwent Police and paramedics were called to an address in Maesglas Avenue, Newport, at about 8:50 GMT on Monday after reports of a dog attack.
Another woman, aged 32, has been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.
The dog has been destroyed by a veterinary surgeon.
Gwent police said the breed of the dog had not yet been confirmed.
