Hirwaun: Man charged after boy, 13, seriously hurt in crash

A boy, 13, is in hospital with life-threatening injuries
A man has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a 13-year-old was hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to Brecon Road, Hirwaun, in Rhondda Cynon Taf, at 18:25 GMT on Thursday after the boy was seriously hurt.
The 19-year-old man from Hirwaun has also been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Two other men who were arrested at the scene have been released without charge, said police.
The 19-year-old appeared at at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded into custody until a hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court next month.
