Four people were injured, two badly, following a dog attack in Rhydlios

People have been shocked and concerned by a dog attack that left four people injured, according to a councillor.

The animal was destroyed after police were called to Rhydlios, on the Ll欧n peninsula in Gwynedd, on Friday.

A total of 37 dogs and a number of cats were seized from the address, according to North Wales Police.

"The big question everyone is asking is how anyone would be allowed to keep 37 of these dogs in a domestic dwelling," said councillor Gareth Williams.

Of the four injured people, one was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital which acts as a regional trauma centre.

A second person was taken to Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool.

'Speedy recovery'

Mr Williams said people's thoughts were with those involved and he hoped "they make a speedy recovery from their injuries".

The breed of the dog is not yet known.

Chief Supt Sian Beck said she wanted to reassure the community that "there is no further risk to the wider public".

"We have launched a joint investigation with the RSPCA and are appealing for anyone who may have information about the dogs located at the property to contact us," she added.
