The Royal Mint has unveiled a new range of coins to celebrate 60 years of 007.

Fans of James Bond, Britain's favourite secret agent, will be able to raise a Martini - shaken, not stirred - to six decades of spying with the new collection.

Each design will feature a scene from a different decade of author Ian Fleming's famous creation.

And kicking things off is an iconic moment from the 1960s when Bond's big screen adventures began.

The first coin was released on Wednesday by the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

It depicts the Sean Connery era 007 sat in Little Nellie, the gyroplane from 1967's You Only Live Twice - the fifth Bond movie to hit cinemas.

The titles of each Bond film of that decade make up the background, while the 007 logo appears at the base of the coin.

"James Bond is Britain's favourite secret agent who has captivated audiences for over 60 years," said Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coin at The Royal Mint.

"We are delighted to be unveiling a new collectable coin range to celebrate 007's journey, with each coin featuring a unique design linking to the films of that particular decade.

"We hope 007 enthusiasts and coin collectors find a special place for these limited-edition coins in their existing James Bond or coin collections."

Director of precious metals Andrew Dickey added the new bullion range "combine exclusive design with meticulous craftsmanship".

Coins are available as gold proof, silver proof and brilliant uncirculated editions, with prices starting from £14.50.
