A lorry carrying alcohol caught fire on the M4 in Neath Port Talbot, closing the road for several hours.

It took about five hours to get it under control and the vehicle and cargo were completely destroyed.

The blaze started at about 23:30 BST Saturday, with the motorway initially shut between junctions 41 to Pentyla and junction 42 Earlswood.

On Sunday morning it had reopened eastbound, before fully reopening at about 10:00.

Fire crews used three main water jets, two hose reel jets and a blanket of foam to tackle the blaze at the Briton Ferry Bridge.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally and there are no reports of any injuries.
