In pictures: Patagonia the movie

Chart-topping singer Duffy makes her film acting debut in a tale of two love stories linking Wales and Argentina. She plays Sissy, a student who livens up the life of young Argentinian Alejandro (Nahuel Perez Biscayart) who is visiting Wales.

Alejandro is accompanying his elderly aunt Cerys (Marta Lobos) on a journey to north Wales in search of her mother's roots.

Meanwhile Rhys (Matthew Gravelle, left) and Gwen (Nia Roberts) are a young couple from Cardiff visiting Argentina in the company of their local guide Mateo (Matthew Rhys, right).

Gwen soon strikes up a close friendship with Mateo, admiring the freedom and romance of his life as a herdsman.

This being Argentina, a tango session is never far away.

Director Marc Evans said he was struck by the breathtaking beauty of the Patagonian countryside.

Patagonia goes on general release on Friday 4 March.
