Workers at Bristow Helicopters are set to stage a number of strikes in a row over pay, pilots' union Balpa has said.

The British Airline Pilots' Association said the operator had failed to put forward any offer that its pilots and technical crews could support.

Duties include transporting workers to and from North Sea installations.

Following a ballot, a number of strike dates have been set throughout March. Bristow Helicopters said it was "disappointed".

Balpa general secretary Amy Leversidge said: "Our members in Bristow Helicopters are now saying enough is enough.

"These pilots and technical crew operate in some of the most treacherous conditions in the North Sea."

The company said in a statement: "We are disappointed by Balpa's decision to move ahead with industrial action, which comes despite our ongoing participation in open and constructive discussions.

"We remain committed to the process of talks with the aim of finding a sustainable and fair agreement and avoiding the inevitable disruption caused by strike action."

Industrial action is due to be held between 3-5 March, 11-13 March, 18-20 March, and 25-27 March.
