A man charged after an 89-year-old was allegedly defrauded out of a six-figure sum will not face court action, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Scotland News has learned.
Last year police said the pensioner, a man from Aberdeen, was the victim of "cyber-enabled fraud" in May 2022.
A 46-year-old man from the London area was charged.
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said it had been decided there should be no proceedings taken at this time.
This followed "careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, including the available admissible evidence".
A COPFS statement added: "The Crown reserves the right to proceed in the future should further evidence become available."
