Portlethen Academy closed over safety fears ahead of Storm Caroline
An Aberdeenshire school was closed for safety reasons as a precaution ahead of Storm Caroline because of ongoing work on the building.
Portlethen Academy - built under the PPP programme - opened in 2006.
Aberdeenshire Council said a recent report showed work needed to be carried out on external walls.
The contractor, Robertson Construction, said the school was safe. The forecast strong winds led to it being closed as a precaution.
Further inspections are being carried out before the school can re-open.
