Man, 88, on mobility scooter dies after crash with cars
An 88-year-old man has died after his mobility scooter was involved in a crash with two cars in Paisley.
Police said the incident happened on Gauze Street, at its junction with Silk Street, at about 20:00 on Monday.
Officers said the collision involved a red Volkswagen Golf and a red Vauxhall Astra.
The man, who has not been named, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later.
There were no reports of any other injuries and the road was closed for around seven hours.
Sgt Robert Mackie said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at what is a very difficult time."
"Our inquiries are ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the crash or who may have information which could assist us to ."
