The body of an elderly man found near the shoreline in Fife has been identified.

He was discovered near the Esplanade, opposite the old Kirkcaldy Swimming Pool, at about 13:25 on Thursday.

Police later said he was a 91-year-old man who lived in Fife. His relatives have been informed.

Inquiries are ongoing but officers said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
