Silverbridge: Two arrested after reported kidnapping and assault

A man has suffered facial injuries following a reported kidnapping in Silverbridge, County Armagh, on Saturday.

Police were told the victim was bundled into a car, taken to a different location and assaulted before being released.

Two men, aged 39 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.

A police spokesperson said it was a "terrifying ordeal for the victim".

Officers appealed for anyone who was in the area of Carnally Road at about 17:25 GMT on Saturday and saw anything to contact them.

They have also asked for anyone with relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage to come forward.
