James Gallagher named as pedestrian killed in Derry crash
A pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Londonderry was 42-year-old James Gallagher, police have said.
Mr Gallagher, who was from the city, was hit by a Volkswagen Golf at about 01:40 GMT on Sunday in Strand Road.
He was taken from the scene of the crash to Altnagelvin Hospital before later being transferred to a hospital in Belfast.
Police said enquiries into the crash were ongoing and have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
