Man bailed over counterfeit goods seizure
A man arrested in County Antrim on suspicion of selling counterfeit goods has been released on bail.
It followed the seizure of clothing, footwear and electrical equipment which police say represented a potential loss of 拢130,000 to the brands concerned.
The 36-year-old had been detained in Glenavy on Sunday.
Det Sgt Mason said: "It is easy to see the buying of fake goods as a harmless and victimless crime but this couldn't be further from the truth."
"While it may seem a bargain to buy a designer coat for 拢40 instead of over 拢100, people need to think of the consequences," the officer continued.
They added that profits from counterfeit goods can help fund criminal activity and impacts the economy with a loss of millions of pounds of revenue each year.
