A number of homes have been evacuated due to a security alert in east Belfast.

The alert at Kingsway Park, in Tullycarnet, began after the discovery of a suspicious object.

Army bomb disposal experts have been sent to the scene.

It is understood road diversions have been put in place. There are no further details.
