Ex-soldier from Wiltshire breaks marathon world record
A former soldier from Wiltshire has broken a world record - half way through his aim of running 100 marathons in 100 days.
Mike Buss completed his 51st marathon in 51 days at a shopping centre in Kent, breaking the previous record of 50 marathons in 50 days.
The 36-year-old has been running on treadmills across England since June.
He is already in the record books for continuous cycling and running in a chemical warfare suit.
'Enormous challenge'
Mr Buss hopes to raise 拢100,000 for the charity Help for Heroes by the end of the year.
While running his 51st marathon at McArthur Glen Designer Outlet shopping centre in Ashford, Kent, he said: "This is an enormous challenge for me but one that I am enjoying nearly every minute of.
"The Hero 100 challenge will not only help me set a new world record but more importantly it will raise vital funds for Help for Heroes."
Former Green Jacket Mr Buss, from Swindon, spent 10 years in the Army and served as a lance corporal in Northern Ireland.
He has devoted his life to breaking as many records as possible to raise money for military charities.
