Sompting councillor guilty of Chichester buggy theft
An Adur councillor who sits on the Sussex Police and Crime Panel has been found guilty of stealing a children's buggy.
Sussex Police confirmed Paul Mansfield, 60, of Avon Close, Sompting, was ordered to pay a total of 拢875, including a 拢64 victim surcharge.
The remainder was made up of 拢500 to the Crown Prosecution Service, a 拢161 fine, and 拢150 compensation.
He was found guilty at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The theft took place in Chichester on 28 August 2022.
Mr Mansfield sits as a substitute member on the Sussex Police and Crime Panel and is chairman of the authority's licensing committee.
