The Orwell Bridge has reopened after high winds caused it to be shut for about six hours.

Highways England said the A14 crossing, to the south of Ipswich, Suffolk, was closed at 09:00 GMT and reopened just before 15:00.

Diversions were put in place, and motorists were asked to follow the "solid triangle" route.

Highways England posted on social media thanking drivers for their patience.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team asked motorists to "drive to the conditions".
