Sheffield stabbing: Woman accused of dog walker's murder dies
A woman charged with murdering a council worker as he walked his dog in Sheffield has died, police said.
Emma Borowy, 32, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, was due to stand trial over the death of Roger Leadbeater.
Mr Leadbeater, 74, died from stab wounds after being attacked in a park off Shortbrook Close, Westfield, on 9 August.
South Yorkshire Police said Ms Borowy died on 12 December while on remand in prison.
No-one else is being sought in connection with Mr Leadbeater's death and the investigation has been closed, a spokesperson said.
"Our thoughts remain with all those affected," they added.
Files for the coroner would be prepared in relation to both deaths, police said.
