Police are appealing for witnesses after a sexual assault.

Northamptonshire Police said a woman in her 30s was attacked by two males in the Greyfriars underpass in Northampton between 22:30 and 23:15 BST on 3 May.

The woman was walking from the direction of Upper Bath Street when one of the two men pushed her against a wall before sexually assaulting her.

She punched the man - described as being white with short dark hair and a short beard - before escaping.

The man behind the assault was about 5ft 8ins (173cm) tall, had a distinctive mole on the right side of his face and was wearing a black coat.

He was with a second man, who is believed to be in his 20s, and was of a large build. Both men are believed to have left the underpass towards Northampton bus station and boarded the number 5 bus to Southfields.

The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing and face coverings. Officers said that one of them had a bicycle.
