Paddington station: Inquiry after wheelie bin falls and blocks rails
A platform at one of Britain's busiest railway stations was blocked earlier when a wheelie bin and the vehicle used to tow it ended up on the rails.
Platform one at Paddington station, in west London, was shut to all arrivals and departures while station staff worked out how to remove it.
Some witnesses suggested it had been done deliberately by a worker, while others said it happened by accident.
Network Rail said it was investigating but no services had been delayed.
A spokesperson for the company, which runs the terminal, said: "Earlier today, a buggy and waste bin it was transporting fell onto the tracks at Platform 1 at London Paddington station.
"We are investigating the cause of the incident, but no trains services were delayed."
