Police seize 拢2m in Dewsbury cannabis farms raids
Cannabis worth an estimated 拢2m has been seized in a series of raids, West Yorkshire Police said.
More than 1,700 plants were found at four properties in the Dewsbury area between 15 January and 2 February.
During one raid officers found 1,500 plants growing in a large-scale premises in Wharf Mill, Ravensthorpe.
Sgt Stuart Clarke, from the Dewsbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, said the raids were the result of information from local residents.
Speaking after the most recent seizure he said: "This is the fourth cannabis cultivation that has been located and disrupted in recent weeks by the neighbourhood policing team working on information provided by residents in our communities.
"This means that in four weeks alone a potential 拢2m has been kept from the hands of criminals.
"Every cannabis farm we raid potentially provides new clues and forensic information about those involved to assist our investigations."
