A police officer in West Yorkshire has been charged with serious sexual offences.
PC Benjamin Bottomley, 21, based in the Kirklees area, is accused of one count of rape and one of sexual assault by penetration.
West Yorkshire Police said one of the alleged offences took place before he joined the force, the other while he was a student officer.
He is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 25 January.
A force spokesperson said both offences involved one victim and were reported after PC Bottomley began working at West Yorkshire Police.
They added the officer had been suspended from duty.
