Appeal after cyclist struck by car in Preston seriously hurt

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash in which a cyclist was seriously injured.
A bicycle and a Ford C-Max car both travelling towards Preston collided on Golden Way, Penwortham, near Liverpool Road, shortly before 01:00 BST, Lancashire Police said.
The cyclist - a man aged in his 40s - is being treated in hospital.
The road was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident but has since reopened.
