Newquay beach body man 'had been on football trip'
A 20-year-old man found dead on a beach in Cornwall had been in the area on a football club tour, police have said.
The man was visiting Newquay as part of an end-of-season football tour with his local club Leonard Stanley AFC, from Gloucestershire, with 19 others.
His body was found on Great Western Beach at about 08:30 BST on Saturday.
Devon and Cornwall police are investigating an incident in a pay-and-display car park just above an access road for nearby Towan Beach.
Police said they had spoken to two people about the car park incident and were seeking information about two other people present in the area between 22:00 and 22:30 on Friday.
Officers added that they were also seeking witnesses who may have been walking along local tram tracks around the same time who may have seen a lone man "behaving erratically".
