Body found in Bristol hospital grounds is identified
A man whose headless body was found in the grounds of a psychiatric hospital in Bristol has been identified.
Michael Eyers, 39, from St Anne's Park, Bristol, was found by staff at Callington Road Hospital in Brislington last month.
It is thought the body and nearby head had been there for six months. The death is not thought to be suspicious.
An inquest was opened and adjourned on Friday at Avon Coroner's Office. The cause of death is not currently known.
Callington Road Hospital is a specialist unit for patients with psychiatric and addiction problems.
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Trust said none of its in-patients had been reported missing in that time.
