Ford Hill is among the three household waste recycling centres closing in the Bradford district

Three Bradford Council waste recycling tips will permanently close on 31 March, the local authority said.

The closures of Ford Hill in Queensbury, Sugden End in Keighley and Golden Butts in Ilkley will save Bradford Council £900,000 per year.

The cash-strapped council plans to make £40m of cuts to services in total, with the closures recently confirmed.

Five tips in the district will remain open, with the three selected as they were the "least used", it said.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, from Bradford Council, said: "We know many people are not happy with these closures.

"We're not happy ourselves having to make these cuts, but unfortunately the council's financial situation means we need to go ahead with closure."
