Rosie Hynes was the first torchbearer on the last day of the relay. She carried the Olympic flame on the leg between Bushy Park and Hampton Court.

Alain Lunzenfichter jogged and waved as he completed his stint between Bushy Park and Hampton Court.

Olympic Gold medallist rower Sir Matthew Pinsent held the flame aloft in front of the Great Gate at Hampton Court Palace.

Cara Dartnell-Steinberg passed the flame on to Jane Caldwell in front of Hampton Court Palace.

Sir Matthew Pinsent lit the cauldron on the royal rowbarge Gloriana in front of a huge crowd.

Gloriana then made its way down the River Thames towards Tower Bridge.

Hundreds of people gathered on the banks of the Thames for a glimpse of the torch on the Gloriana, which was flanked by a fleet of rowing boats.

Boats on the Thames followed the royal rowbarge on a much drier day than its last voyage, which was with the Queen for her Diamond Jubilee pageant.

Oars were out in force for the big day.

Akosua Scantlebury, who works with youth clubs, was one of the torchbearers holding the Olympic Flame on the Gloriana.

Patriotic spectators got into the Olympic spirit, waving to the royal barge as it went past.

The flotilla passed London landmarks including the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, which earlier chimed 40 times at 08:12 BST, as part of a UK-wide mass bell ring for the start of the Games.

Amber Charles held the Olympic flame on a floating pontoon in front of Tower Bridge.

The barge also passed the Tower of London, where the flame was guarded when it arrived in the capital last week.
