Spotify has launched a new personalised music service.

Release Radar pulls together a playlist for users with all the latest releases from people's favourite artists and sends out a two-hour playlist every Friday.

It bases its recommendations on a user's entire history to work out what they like.

It's being seen by industry experts as the latest development in the battle with Apple for the online music market.

It uses what is called the "deep learning" system which has been used in the past on Discover Weekly.

That learns your music taste before recommending existing music that it thinks you will like.

Spotify says Release Radar is about new music and making sure people keep up to date with their favourite artist's latest releases.

"With the huge amount of new music released every week, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest tracks," says Matt Ogle from Spotify.

"With Release Radar, we wanted to create the simplest way for you to find all the newly released music that matters the most to you, in one playlist."

Release Radar compliments the company's Discover Weekly, which gives users track they may not have heard every Monday.

It's gone down fairly well with fans on Twitter.
