This is who Tame Impala's Kevin Parker might be working with

"Obviously it is a huge ego boost," Tame Impala's Kevin Parker says of Rihanna covering one of his tracks for her new album.

Big ego boost and "a boost in Instagram followers", but also a sign of this man's growing popularity.

He collaborated with Mark Ronson on his last album and it seems that friendship is still going strong.

A week ago Ronson posted a picture of Kevin in the studio with Lady Gaga.

He is keeping quiet about what that all means but we know she is working on new music, so watch this space.

Kevin says there has been a slow, steady increase of people wanting to work with him and that is the dream.

"It is the thing I fantasise about," he says backstage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Exeter.

"I would love to be able to work with other people more, my musical roots are just in my bedroom with a bunch of different instruments.

"Obviously I have friends that I make music with but I don't have a big grounding in working with other people that I don't know.

"So it is this foreign thing to me but something I would love to do more."

And with the growing popularity of Tame Impala and his reputation, those opportunities will surely happen.

He is currently touring the Aussie psychedelic rockers third album, Currents.

This album saw them pick up best international act at the Brit Awards in February and sell out two nights at London's Alexandra Palace.

It's fair to say they have had a fanbase that is growing fast.

Kevin has another analogy for it.

"I feel with Tame Impala it's like a fungus growing in your brain," he suggests.

"It lays spores in your brain and festers there until one day you wake up and you are a huge Tame Impala fan."
