Chris Brown has apologised for an angry outburst which followed a breakfast TV appearance in the US this week.

The R&B singer reportedly broke a dressing room window and left Good Morning America shirtless on Tuesday after being questioned about his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

He has now said sorry to "anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended".

"I'm disappointed in the way I acted - I got very emotional," he added.

'Talking points'

ABC have reported that Brown, speaking to BET programme 106 & Park, said Good Morning America had agreed not to ask about his history with Rihanna.

The network deny this, in a statement they said: "Chris Brown was invited on Good Morning America to perform and to be interviewed. There were no talking points offered."

The programme say that Brown has been invited back. An offer they say he is considering.

"I felt like, 'OK, they told us this just so they can get us on the show so they can exploit me," said Brown in response.

"I kept my composure and did my performances, and when I got back, I just let off, like, steam in the back."

Back in 2009, Brown ended up in court after assaulting his then girlfriend in Los Angeles.

The star was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days community work after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammy awards.

He told Good Morning America during his appearance: "It's not really a big deal to me now."

"So definitely this album is what I want them to talk about and not stuff that happened two years ago."
