Train company launches WhatsApp for service updates
- Published
A train operating company that serves Kent, East Sussex and Greater London has launched a WhatsApp channel to provide service updates.
Southeastern claims it is the first train company in the UK to do this.
The new service allows customers to sign up through their existing WhatsApp account so they can get accurate travel information directly from the Southeastern control centre.
John Till, head of information delivery, said: 鈥淲e are building a better, more reliable and sustainable railway and a key part of that is providing our customers with accurate, timely and easily accessible information."
Passengers can also send questions directly to the Southeastern control team on their WhatsApp number if they need specific advice and information.
Mr Till said signing up was "quick and easy" and said the details are on Southerastern's website.
Passengers can also stay up to date on the app, website, social media channels and through announcements on trains and in stations.
